Raw Icelandic Fleece (White)

A joy to spin and easy to felt, Icelandic wool is a wonderful wool for both novice and experienced spinners. Raised in Nebraska on the Quandt family farm, our Icelandic wool comes from happy sheep that are raised naturally in a clean, caring environment. Icelandic wool consists of both a hairy overcoat, called the tog, and a soft, wooly undercoat called the thell. Both can be spun together or easily separated and spun separately. White Icelandic wool takes both natural and synthetic dyes easily.
Fleeces are skirted and removed of major vegetable matter, but have not been washed or carded. Icelandic fleeces are sold by the pound.
